Before writing Styx, the composer Bernard Thomas and I had already co-produced a piece of musical theatre with a large amount of improvisation, again with a libretto by Benoît Richter and Samuel Muller. None of the sketches remain, except for the final song that I had composed, and therefore carefully written, for three voices and piano… I have always been much interested by the idea of proverbs, and I placed this song in my musical One World At A Time.
The following recording was made with Caroline Chassany, Esther Labourdette, Jean-Luc Tamby and myself in winter 2020. Just to fight against gloom!
