A solitary woman wanders beneath the walls of Rome, through deserted squares at night or in the underground at rush hour. We follow her train of thought, her empathy for the people she meets, in a kind of secular Book of Hours, in which the movement of thought, always projected towards the Other, at whatever time of day, reminds us of the fragility of our own existence.
