A sorrowful psalm expressing the awareness of errors and finitude, this psalm is one of the most sung in the sacred repertoire, often under the title of its incipit, Miserere, and the number 51 (50 being the Greek numbering). Towards the end I gave it a lively rhythm, as if for a dance.
