The initial text is a long litany of all the expressions about the night, as if we were passing through a cloud of words the juxtaposition of which produces a kind of poetic intoxication. The choir is very divided here, with in particular a plastic sound effect provided by a division into three levels, the foreground made of a few soloists, precise and as if in high relief, a second with a slightly larger group expressing an intermediate distance, and a background with the rest of the choir, like a distance with more melted sonorities.
